Traditional About pages can often be static and uninspiring.

At Interconnected Collective, we aimed to transform this experience by highlighting our talented team in a fun and engaging way.

Background

Facilitating meaningful connections through gaming

The Interconnected Collective project began as a collaborative effort to enhance networking at the Lesbians Who Tech & Allies Conference. Recognizing the challenges of virtual networking, we developed a bingo game to facilitate meaningful connections among attendees. Developing the About Page

Inspiration

Leveraging the gaming aspect of our website, we first explored the possibility of basing the "About" page on Pokémon, providing stats and a brief bio for each contributor.

This design did not leave enough room for contributors to write about themselves or add links to portfolios.

Bingo!

The answer was right in front of us all along! To make the about page more engaging the UX team started to look at it as a bingo board itself.

With this concept the user would be able to click on the contributor’s image to access more information about them. Shapes were to be included to make the page look more like a bingo board.
